ALPHA Course GROUPS

January to April 2023

What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of 12 sessions exploring the Christian faith. The course runs weekly on Thursdays at C3 Church NE Portland from January 12, 2023 to April 6, 2023. Each session looks at a different question about faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome. 


The topics explored each week include:


  • Week 1: Is there more to life? 
  • Week 2: Who is Jesus?
  • Week 3: Why did Jesus die?
  • Week 4: How can I have faith?
  • Week 5: Why and how do I pray?
  • Week 6: Why and how should I read the bible?
  • Week 7: How does God guide us?
  • Week 8: Who is the Holy Spirit?
  • Week 9: Does God heal today?
  • Week 10: What about the church?
  • Week 11 and 12: How can I make the most of the rest of my life?

What Happens at Alpha COurse?

Alpha Course runs weekly at C3 Church NE Portland starting 1/12/2023 and running through to 4/6/2023. The course meets Thursday nights from 6:30-8pm in person at C3 Church located at 5740 NE Portland Highway, Portland, OR, 97218. 


What happens at Alpha Course?

  • 6:30-7pm: Food. Most sessions start with food because it is a great way to build community and get to know each other. 
  • 7-7:30pm: A Video. A 30 minute video that explores the big issues around faith and unpacks the basics of Christianity. Each video involves a talk addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can I have faith?
  • 7:30-8pm: Discussion. The chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic in the video and simply discuss it in a small group with a trained small group facilitator. It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
