C3 Communnity Outreach

The hub of our community outreach is the building on the church property that is home to C3 Food Pantry. This building is dedicated to serving and providing for the needs of our local Portland community through food assistance. Kaz Brooks is the Executive Director of C3 Food Pantry and oversees a team of 50+ volunteers who run a public food box distribution every Tuesday at 11am-12pm.

Over the past five years C3 Church has served the community in numerous fire events, including providing use of the church building as space for an evacuation center for Multnomah county in 2018, serving 10,000+ people food, clothing and emergency supplies during the Oregon fires in 2020, and being a donation drop off site for people affected by the Hacienda apartment block fires in January 2021.

Fall/WINTER COMMUNITY GROUPS

Community Groups are small groups of 5 to 10 people that meet regularly to build friendships, share a meal and grow in faith together. The Fall/Winter season of Community Group kicks off Tuesday, September 19, 2023 and runs weekly on Tuesdays at 6:30-8pm. The Fall/Winter season runs for ten weeks and finishes on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

What happens at Community Groups?

  • 6:30-7pm: Potluck dinner. Groups start with a meal because it is a great way to build community and get to know each other.
  • 7-8pm: A time of teaching from the Bible, followed by a time to share thoughts and ideas and simply discuss the Bible teaching as a small group. It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

ACTIVATE ZAMBIA

Activate Zambia is a new initiative in 2023 for C3 Church! Pastor Seth presented the vision to the C3 Church congregation of being a church that has both a local and a global outreach. This vision has now grown into an exciting partnership between C3 Church and Grace Pentecostal Church and Ministries in Zambia.

Pastor Seth led the first overseas missions team from C3 NEPDX to Zambia for a conference, ministry and business training on August 13-27, 2023. The C3 Zambia missions team consisted of eight people, with five team members coming from the C3 Church congregation.  The Activate Zambia Conference was located in Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia in ran in partnership with local pastors, community leaders and churches in Zambia.

The focus of the missions trip was ministry and a business training conference, with a kids program running concurrently. Over 200+ children attended the kids program and 250+ youth and young adults attended the business training and mentorship program. The people of Kapiri Mposhi are excited to see Activate Zambia run again in 2024!
